After years of dedicated research, volumes of consumed caffeinated stimulants, and vigorous debate The Caravan has finally cracked the case: L’Aroma’s traditional latte is the student favorite among coffee choices on campus.

More than 300 AUC random students completed a survey in which they were asked what coffee they preferred on campus. The options included L’Aroma, Cilantro, The Bakery Shop (TBS), Cinnabon, McDonalds, and the Caf.

L’aroma was the overwhelming favorite coming in with 143 votes for best latte.

Sherif Garrana, a Political Science senior, was one of the many students who chose L’Aroma.

“No coffee on campus compares to L’aroma. I don’t know how to describe why it tastes so good. It just gives this kick in the morning that no other coffee does.”

Finance student Nader Shoukri believes that L’aroma sells the best coffee because it is “extremely” fresh.

“It doesn’t have all the flavors that all the other coffees on campus have. It tastes like pure coffee,” he said.

Karolin Ismail, a psychology senior, said  was also full of praise for the coffee L’Aroma makes.

“I love their cream,” she said.

The manager of L’Aroma on campus, who only gave his name as Mohamed, said that the coffee beans are imported from Italy and the foam they use is much creamier than any place else on campus.

He said his staff use manual machines that require them to actually make the coffee.

Cilantro was the students’ second favorite coffee, with 97 votes while TBS came in third with 43 votes, and Cinnabon received the last 17 votes.

McDonalds and The Caf did not receive any votes.

The survey and results comes in stark contrast to a report published in The Caravan in October 2011.

Then, many AUCians and faculty were making or bringing their own coffee to campus rather than purchasing it from on-campus outlets, which they complained were offering mediocre quality at high prices.
