Social Media Trending: Bitsrips

Recently, Bitstrips has been the most trending application on Facebook. It is also one of the top downloaded applications on Apple’s Application Store (App Store) and Google Play, and has over 10 million monthly users.

It works by creating an avatar and putting it in one of hundreds of pre-made scenes with captions or user-made dialogues. These scenes can be posted as Facebook status updates, or can be shared on other social media outlets such as Twitter and Instagram.

Bitstrips has been around on Facebook since 2008, however it experienced a dramatic raise in activity after the application was released on the App Store.
