When my grandmother first adopted Baraka, I couldn’t imagine the thought of having to deal with that little white fur ball. I was a little over eight and scared for my life!
He’d run after me in a failed attempt for us to play, and I’d jump in the pool for refuge.
Fast forward 12 years later, he’s taught me more about life in those years than any human could possibly have. My friendship with Baraka shaped my character – he’s the reason I’m an animal lover, rescuer even.
And he’s the reason I mistrust humans but trust animals.
He’s made me who I am today.
