Day… uhhhh… I can’t remember any more how many days we have been in this situation. We are a house of five adults: my son, two daughters, husband and I. All working and three on their Master’s programs at AUC, and our house feels like all of a sudden it’s become a home/business/school as we are all constantly on Zoom meetings for work or classes.
It’s 9am and I take my coffee and laptop in search of a room to set up for work. As I walk into the living room my daughter waves that she is in a meeting with a client. Oookay tip toe out…
In the dining room my son is setting up for his final project presentation for his Master’s degree. Wish him luck and move to find another place
Go to my bedroom and my husband is on the phone. OK, then how about other rooms? My other daughter is on a zoom call with her classmates. Outside? Balcony maybe? Yep, good. Oops no, drilling sounds from the neighbors.
I finally found a corner in my son’s room. There, that’s my spot!
I am in the middle of a Zoom meeting, and my son walks in looking for his blue blazer as his presentation is about to start. He panics, “I can’t find it, it’s gone?!”
I turn off the video on my call, go look into his closet, and it’s right there … voila … and back to the meeting …
It’s 5:30pm, my daughter turns on an online yoga class. I join in for some … sit out for most.
6:30pm time for the Master Chef experience, testing new recipes and discovering our newfound cooking talents. It’s no joke! We had home-made sushi 🙂
Thinking of baking some bread maybe?
That’s the new normal.
